So I brought home a 4 week old yorkie this evening whose mama was hit by a car two days ago. I want to find out as much as I can since A. I have never owned any animal this young (not even close, I usually adopt from a shelter when they are a couple of years old). B. I want to keep this guy healthy. I have had him for about 3 hours now and have given him some formula with a bottle but in three hours time he hasnt had more than 1 tablespoon. He is sleepy but doesnt show any signs of hypo glycemia. Can you please provide me with any advice like how often I should attempt to feed him? When should I be trying to introduce solids? (I picked up Blue Small Breed Puppy Food for when he is ready). I am actively researching everything I can online but anything you can add would be great.
