I don't care when people ask me that and I am sure not going to lecture them for asking about my dog.
In the real world most people just think our dogs are cute and wonder about their size. Yesterday I ran into another Yorkie owner who's dog was very large for a Yorkie. He asked me if mine was a mini and I said no, just small for the breed. He said well his is just large for the breed. We let them rub noses and we laughed about the difference in size. We both agreed they are great dogs no matter what size they are.
The ONLY time the teacup word bugs me is when breeders use the word, as if it is a correct breed description. Even more irritating is the YT members who BUY from breeders like that. Legitimate, knowledgeable Yorkshire Terrier breeders know that these dogs are in the TOY group. period. |
