I have the Nesco brand. Got it for a Christmas gift. I don't think it cost over $40.00' @ Bed Bath Beyond. I dried thin chicken breast (no seasoning) for Ruger @ 160 degrees, turned out great. I've done sweet potatoes, right now I'm drying oranges, no seeds. You can dry just about everything, meats, fish, fruits, veggies, nut, herbs, spices, flowers. Fruits can be from can or frozen. Fresh would be better, wait till they come in for season.
There's a temperature control for different foods. Hope you get one.
