My ex and I used to have a 95 pound german shepherd, Casey.
I had always wanted a lap dog, and decided to get a Yorkie, Tiffany. When I brought Tiffany home, Casey was extremely jealous and upset. Tiffany would go over to him and try to make friends and he would be so annoyed and move away. He hung his head in depression for weeks on end. But Tiffany never gave up, she kept going up to him all the time and very slowly, he started to allow her to put her paws on his face when he was laying down. They ended up being the best of friends, but it took a few months. If we ever took Tiffany out with us and left Casey at home, when the car drove down the driveway, Casey would be SO excited, he could barely wait for the car to stop. But it wasn't us he went to first, it was Tiffany! Little Tiffany would stand up on her hind legs and Casey would bend his head down to her and she would have both paws on the sides of his face. OMG, how precious that was.
