A lick or so off the tip of your finger is enough to start. If you don't see any negative change in his bowel movements after several days, you can gradually increase the amount a tiny bit at a time as long as he's tolerating the increases. I have a teapot yorkie that weighs nearly 15 pounds and he gets about 1/2 tsp every other day or so. He will lick it right off the tip of my finger. Its one of his favorite treats.

I have been doing some research on the best brands possible to purchase but I am having a hard time trying to find them. A couple of considerations in purchasing a good coconut oil is that it is Virgin (unrefined), cold-pressed, organic and should be (but not necessarily) in a glass jar.

Your thoughts on what you use and anyone else out there would be helpful!
