Great advice regarding supervision - Teddy and my cat Guiness are very good friends but play still gets out of hand and Teddy will be the worse off if play tips over to aggression for any reason or cat gets too claw happy. Also, my Yorkie was very confident after months of training him with other dogs until a bigger dog smashed him in play. That one episode made him scared of dogs again so, as stated above, you can never really be too careful!
