That's exactly how I trained both of my yorkies. It took awhile but eventually they do catch on. You just have to remember to be persistent and consistent. It will be so worth it. I hate getting up in the middle of the night to go down 3 flights of stairs to let them potty. With potty pads, I now get a good night sleep.

Also I am a little weird. I don't want them to have to hold it until I get home from work. I know how I feel when I have to hold it so I can only imagine how they feel so I gave them a safe place to potty indoors should they have to go. Good news for me is that Duchess still goes outside as well......the best of both worlds.
