No, I did my research on the breed before we got him and my step sons little sister who is 3 always picks him up and just moves around so quickly and I watch her like a hawk with him and he sais I'm being over protective cause I keep telling her to put him down or sit down with him. It's so frustrating when you do your homework and everyone acts like he's a regular dog. He's not he's fragile puppy and not a stuffed animal for 3 y.o. I get so upset.
I've announced several times now after I caught BIL feeding people food/table scraps to Uni (or any other dog we have in our care), that if they get hurt or sick, whoever is the cause is paying for the vet bill. Say it, and mean it! You are not being overprotective and with how much yorkies cost to get and take care of, why the hell is he giving you grief over taking care of your dog well? The 3 year old should not be getting one on one time with the dog period! She needs to be sitting down with and adult by her side ad petting the dog with ONE hand and NO picking up under any circumstances. Three years old is far too young to understand. Even with bf's nephews who are 7 and 11, their focus comes and goes and they get so distracted. One moment they are playing fetch, the next they are running and jumping off the couch. You just never know.

Pillows will help absorb some of the shock but stairs are better.

Well Spice walks ,runs and jumps just fine. She hasnt favored her leg at all since that day. I dont understand . Is this something that comes and goes???
She has always appeared bow legged and it is so cute. But now I wonder.
My vet is one I have taken all my animals to for the last 20 years and she is a very caring wonderful lady. I just dont know if she has alot of experience with yorkies. They are a very special breed I have learned LOLOLOL
What grade did the vet diagnose? Uni has grade 2/3 and she has only hiked once and she is now 8 years old. I feel her knees pop in and out daily. I would not advise surgery until the dog goes lame, and even then, get a second and third opinion.

that price seems about right though, for each knee, and usually the surgeon will do one knee at a time and the recovery/healing time is about 8 weeks each. It's tough.
