Capstar is a flea treatment pill that befits working in about 30 minutes. It kills 90% of the fleas in about 4 hours. It kills the adult fleas very quickly.
Pets can scratch as the fleas die -- I have never had this happen, but it is reported.
The effect only lasts for about 24 hours so it is often used along with the routine monthly treatment when an outbreak occurs, such as, your dogs being exposed to a dog who has fleas.
My pup got fleas from a hotel room we stayed in once and it was nipped in the bud fast by Capstar. Another time we aware at an agility trial where there were lots of dogs and I saw some fleas on some of the dogs there so I gave her a Capstar pill.
Police dogs use it a lot when they go into places that are infested
