Pip is home. It's midday here in the U.K. Two nights without her seemed so long. She's on Clavaseptin. She had Gastroenteritis.
She looks a bit frazzled and tired. She didn't get as excited to see us, as usual, until we'd got her in the car. Don't think she believed she was leaving the vets, until then. She talked to us, all the way home....I'm sure she swore. Seemed to be telling us all about her experience and her views on deserting parents.
She'd hardly eaten, funny how vets don't believe you when you say you have a truly fussy eater, not just a pampered pet. As soon as we got home, I cut up some chicken and she hoovered it up. We'll give her some more in a few hours.
The bill more than anything, may help hubby not give table food to Caleb or Pip . ... I was expecting at least double what we were charged. Total for emergency vet (we took her in at midnight) two nights stay, medication and vet care - £250 that about 370 dollars. I was expecting a few more hundreds to that bill, he wasn't expecting it to be as much as £200, even though I'd warned him it could be up to £1000.
When we phoned up, the vet talked about how sweet Pip is, that they'd kept her out of her cage to be with them. Seemed everyone was falling in love with her. The receptionist said she'd fallen for her, what a darling she was. Then the vet said something similar. Pip likes nothing more than cuddling. Never had such a cuddly dog before, thought we did, 'til we met Pip.
So now we are off to bed. I've not been able to sleep, only had about 4hrs in 48hrs. So Caleb, Pip and I are off to catch up. Thank you all for being there, as Pip and I went through this, for the posts, well wishes, prayers and good thoughts.
