I disagree with you 100%, she sounds very ready to me. Anyone who is willing to adopt any dog from a shelter is a wonderful person, especially adopting an older dog that may have very little possibility of ever finding a last "forever home". How unfortunate this Newbie's first reply to her is so unhelpful.

If your pup does bark at people and cars driving by the front door, maybe you could get some pretty wallpaper and put it on the lower part of the glass door so she can't see out? That wouldn't affect your vision out, but would prevent her from seeing the action going by.
