Ladyjane, I completely agree with you. However, my vet and the orthopaedic vet are adamant they do not want him walking on it and very strict crate rest (only bathroom for less than 5 minutes). It's almost cruel. I'm not crating him at all -- he gets completely crazy with anxiety in one. Luckily, my bosses don't care if he comes to work with him, and he is no trouble at all. The vets want me doing leg exercises (which is close to the same thing as him sporadically walking on it). I have to move the leg as if he is walking. When researching this before the surgery, I found that most vets do not indicate strict crate rest anymore. The only thing I can guess is where I live. Mississippi seems to be behind on everything else, so why not dogs? LOL! Thank you. |
