Don't worry! About pitbulls- I volunteer at a rescue and I have walked many pitbulls. Each has a different personality and none have been aggressive. But I do keep my Chibi away from big dogs in general because even playing big dogs can hurt the little ones.
As for training. There are many good suggestions in this thread.
Babyhood is short and a precious time, but can be so frustrating! Don't worry, my Chibi was so hyper when he was a puppy, but started to settle down when he was a year old. My friend's yorkie was even more hyper and he settled down a bit after awhile also.
Someone mentioned "Obedience Training" This is an excellent idea! Your little one needs something to keep his active mind busy. Some YTers here have experience with this type of training. I believe they start training them at a young age. There is probably an ideal age to start.
You can try to teach your dog not to bark. My dog doesn't bark just growls when he hears a strange sound. Try "shhh" then give your baby a treat when he is quiet. As with all training, lots of reinforcement is necessary. Good luck! |
