I came home, was all excited to give him this antler and see what his reaction was. Well his reaction was ZERO, he looked at me as if to say WTH is this and walked away from it. I kept it in his toy box for a while, thought he would get interested in it, NOTHING, so I trashed it. If Cody refused it I figure it couldn't be all that delish, I was glad cos the thought of him putting out an eye was a scary thing, or if he liked it and would toss it around it could break a window, did I mention it was HARD I would be scared of teeth breakage. Can't remember what kind of antler it was, Pet Supply carries antlers the one I got was from a animal feed store and was nothing like the chain pet stores carry.
I bought this elk antler before we had Mario and none of pups liked it, so I put it back. Mario has always liked it and 6 months later just thinks it is great still. Sometimes I soak it in hot chicken broth (homemade usually) over night if he loses interest, then he is right back at it again. He does not chew on it for long periods, but he loves it while he has it.

Marios antler sure seems hard to me too (no I did not bite it ), but it has never splintered. He just scrapes surface material off it, but no signs of chipping or splintering so far.
