Our vet gave us bronchodilators but they seemed to do nothing. Our little one had a level 4 collapse which means complete collapse when she was excited. Dr Beal said we have to do something which meant surgery with rings placed in the trachea or the stent. He did discuss the medical management but was not optimistic that option would work along with the side effects of some of the drugs i.e. the steroids. Our dog was a great candidate because her collapse was only in the trachea and not the bronchi.
