I use a de-matting comb if my pup ever has any knots, it cuts through the knot without pulling hard on the hair. I also always use THE STUFF, a conditioner for dogs and it is fantastic. If I ever forget to spray it in after a bath, it is a lot harder to comb my pup out. You may want to try that. I buy it online. Good luck. :-)
