You could try washing & using cream rinse to see if that will help comb it out but if that doesn't work you could pick up a pair of safety scissors with rounded tips and try to gently as possible cut the knots. Yorkies are pretty easy to groom at home if you are patient and careful if you want to save money in the long run after purchasing grooming supplies. I found good advice here at Yorkietalk on the subject. I use a battery powered Wahl Peanut for feet & sensitive areas and special toe nail clippers with a safety stop to prevent cutting the nails too much. Good luck.
