I do think it gets confusing between the blue and gold and blue and tan. I had a show breeder tell me that blue and tan was more like a darker shaded gold where the gold is darker at the roots. I think the blue and gold is just a lighter shade.
Basically as nice silk coat will hang very straight and it will have a lot of shine when a light is shined on it. Also a silk coat will feel very cool to touch.
