You will want to make sure that you have the medical certification with you. Even if they don't check for it on the way out, you don't want to get stuck without it if they ask on the return flight. Also make sure you have some water and wee wee pad(s) along for the little one. One other suggestion, if you can, get a window seat - less distraction for the dog vs. being in the aisle or middle seat.

Great point...but the middle seat, I have been told, has a little more room under it to more easily accommodate a small dog crate.
