This is a puppy cut. We've had her in a modified schnauzer cut in the past--that's when you let the hair on the legs grow longer. Puppy cut is easier to maintain--fewer tangles. Bella absolutely HATED us combing out the tangles on her legs when we had the modified schnauzer cut. Here is a photo from her modified schnauzer cut days:
