How scary! I would definitely suspect a spider bite or sting if it only happened once, but it's unlikely since it keeps happening. Two of my Rainbow Bridge babies had allergies, but one, Kiwi, had severe allergies. It was really heartbreaking to see her suffer. We tried allergy shots, Cortisone, and Chinese herbs, all which helped, but never enough. Fortunately, there are more effective treatments today. Her sister had much milder allergies, but each year we dealt with secondary bacterial infections from the allergies when she was much older. I really considered her allergies mild, but maybe it's because I was comparing Ashley to Kiwi.
Katie had a terrible hot spot near her mouth, the only one she's ever had. It was most likely due to a spider bite. It came on so quickly. I used chelated colloidal silver on it as soon as I saw it. It definitely helped, and my vet agreed. I initially saw another vet in his practice who told me to continue using it, but when my vet returned from his trip, he also felt it helped. She was also on antibiotics for a few weeks, which also helped. It might help your little girl's symptoms. I use this colloidal silver for many things for Katie, my husband, and me. You can buy a different brand on Amazon.com, but I really trust the company I buy it from, Nature's Farmacy.
I hope you are able to find an effective treatment for your baby.
