I am the grandmother of a wonderful special needs grandson who I love to pieces and the "retard" comment is totally offensive to me. I actually think he would behave far better than a couple of people posting on this thread.
As for the issue, I am very sorry to the original poster for what you went through. I can't imagine how awful I would have felt this past summer if my breeder had told me on my way to pick up my olivia that she changed her mind. I know about the getting ready and the excitement of buying the things you need. I guess I don't understand why the breeder waited until the last minute. It would have been better for everyone involved if the breeder had checked out these folks before agreeing to sell them a puppy. Then to brag about it on Facebook? I do not feel that is very professional. I will be breeding my pups when they are older and I will plan on meeting anyone who wants a puppy and getting information about them, from them before I get into a contract to sell a puppy. Changing your mind at the last minute just doesn't seem right.
I am very sorry for the loss of your boyfriend's brother. Losing a loved one is the hardest thing to go through and I know that pets do help us heal. My prayers are with you and hopefully by this date you have found another puppy!
