You are right, just wait and see! Even if both the dam and sire were steel blue, the pup could still pop up with darker or lighter colors due to his lineage generations back. At 4 months there really is no way to know. Yorkies will continue to change colors until about 3 years old or so but at about one year you will have a better idea. Right now it should look almost like he is balding--light colored roots.
