Every dog is different. I tried all that Maximo does and Toto was still a mess. We also gave him washes after each bath. Still a stinky boy. We ended up giving him a shave on his body, faded to long paws, and kept his head and beard long. Still has the yorkie look when he wears a shirt but much easier to take care of.
