Every puppy is different. I got my 2 puppies at 10 weeks old (litter mates) and the first few weeks they just peed/pooped wherever. It was about 16 weeks that they really started making great progress on potty training.

Take them outside at the same time everyday. Consistency is the key. By about 6 months the accidents were less. They are almost 9 months old and they have very few accidents in the house. Mine are pee pad and outdoor trained. If they pee/poop on the pad they are praised a lot. They go out at certain times of the day and usually go during those times and are praised heavily.

I maybe have 1-2 accidents on the floor a week between the 2 puppies at this point. I never say anything to them about the accidents and just clean it up and then praise when they use the pad.

Give it time, patience and consistency and your puppy will be there too. Some are trained by 4 months, some by a year and some it can take years. I hope yours is a 4 monther though
