I would try obedience training. The one thing I work on really hard when I first get a pup is the barking when someone comes thing. I don't mind them barking at the door, but once that door is open, they have to learn to be quiet. I can't talk to someone if I have dogs barking. I've trained mine to be quiet once that door is open. Actually, I've had people comment on how well behaved they are when someone comes in. Now... after the initial entrance, they do demand a pet by jumping up on the visitor's legs. After they get their pet, though, they know to go on about their business.
