You're right, some coyotes are not afraid of people. This was the second one that jumped a fence to kill a dog in as many weeks in the same area. The other pup's body was not recovered. Another was attacked with the owner standing right there on the street in the same time period. We hear coyotes near nightly now within sight of Seattle.
The request to thin them out is falling on deaf ears, unless a person is attacked.
