I had a senior cat who nails I had been clipping for over 14 years, right before he passed I took to the Vet for a wellness check up and they found one of his back paws has a nail growing into the pad. It was a case of me missing his nail during the previous clipping.
It happens, but like you I now make sure I check every paw pad also when I am clipping nails. |
Thanks so much for sharing...I did feel so terrible when I discovered it....even the vet said that she has seen it before in cats and dogs and she was so quick clipping and removing the nail and my little guy didn't even make a sound. I'll be sure to check them regularly and get him in for more frequent clippings.
