if one is more excitable or erratic on walks, always adjust the lengths so that the excitable one is on a shorter length so they dont yank the calmer one around. I have tried every length and size of coupler and strangely enough i prefer the one designed for bigger dogs because they have a bit more room for personal space and they don't create the chaos that came with the smaller coupler. I have three terrorists and i don't go anywhere without that coupler . I haven't yet figured out how to incorporate a third line yet but Im working on it...lol. Plus it makes for a good tether in the vehicle without using seperate different contraptions to keep them off my lap and contained safely.
