First I'm thinking that is a LOT of food for one meal, and second I'm thinking my dog would never eat that many vegetables unless they were laced about 50/50 with meat. LOL Do you add any carbs like rice or sweet potato to the diet? I'm not a dietician but I home cooked for my dogs for many years and that does not sound like a balanced diet to me. Why is she on this particular diet? And for what it's worth, that diet is much less than 9% protein, because there are only about eight grams of protein in 30 grams of venison or turkey.
And to answer your question, I did not feed my little guy that was on a restricted protein diet any egg yolk because of the fat content. He did get an egg white every other day though, and I considered it bonus protein. Egg white is such a clean and bio-available protein that I did not count it against his protein allowance per day. Also, he was on a very restricted protein diet due to proteinuria (high protein loss through the urine). He was allowed about 15 grams of protein per day, which was around 2 ounces of boiled chicken breast and he weighed about 11 pounds.

Yes, that's correct - I didn't make an error - and it is meant to be divided over two to three meals. It seems crazy to me too. She weighs 5.5kg at the moment and I told him I want to reduce her weight to just over 5kg, to put less strain on her joints! I really don't see how she is meant to eat that mountain of vegetables and lose weight as well! How can that amount of food fit into her little tummy?! As for the protein, she won't even taste it amongst all the veg. I do not feel comfortable giving her so little protein and I am not going to do so. I think around 2 oz of turkey or venison is more suitable.
I want to find out more about petdiets.com as I think I will try them. I will search the forums and see if there is any information about them.
Thanks for the reply, Diana.
