I wont even approach this from the angle of quality/pedigree or dog being bred.....reputable breeders know their dogs pedigrees for many generations back....back yard breeders are not concerned with this knowledge, they throw dogs together, have babies, sell babies with probable genetic issues to unsuspecting people that then get stuck, either loosing their precious new baby to some incurable disease or they face thousands of dollars trying to fix what poor breeding has done to those babies.

The thing YOU need to concern yourself with, is if you sire a litter of babies and a well informed buyer gets one of those puppies, and it ends up costing them thousands and thousands of dollars, trying to save it or cure what poor breeding has caused, fortunately, they are starting to get smart and they are suing breeders for crappy bred dogs they are sold that end up costing them thousands of dollars to keep them alive.....and they are winning! THAT is a wonderful thing! THAT may be the one thing that puts a stop to people that have no idea about breeding healthy dogs from healthy breeding lines, from reproducing genetically damaged/inferior dogs that are plagued with diseases or congenital deformities! So if you are going to be breeding your dog, get well versed in his genetic background and know what the genetic background is with females you are going to breed him to. Must know back at least 9 generations, preferably 12 generations, both top and bottom, to avoid defects in the combination of the pedigrees. Have a bank account stocked in case you get sued for breeding puppies that end up costing the buyer thousands of dollars in vet bills,........ and then, enjoy all the glory we breeders enjoy! Everytime the phone rings, you can worry if it is because something is wrong with the puppy your young man threw, or perhaps the owner wants to send the vet bills for YOUR share of the disaster they just lived thru!
