Your pup is probably very friendly. I think being up and around, appearing healthy, and curious are great traits also.
My pup did come right to me. He's very sweet and affectionate, but a little laid back (meaning he doesn't bark a lot - which is good) and a little shy. His shyness doesn't keep him from going bonkers with other people or other animals. But, I noticed even though he can't keep away from another dog, he runs right up and turns over belly up to meet them. He's playing it safe, which is a good thing. He absolutely loves company and people coming to visit. He's every bit as friendly as a dog can be.
I'll bet you can't wait to get your pup. Since he's so far away, you probably won't be visiting him until it's time to bring him home. Hope the time goes fast for you.
