Thanks for the latest update on your baby. You must be so worried with the roller coaster ride you are riding with her.
Forget what I said about tests, your vet is seeing your baby and I am sure he will do whatever tests and exams he feels are appropriate. The fact that the vet found sensitivity in the area of the pancreas suggest to me that Annabel has a moderate degree of pancreatitis. When my dog had P the vet could not detect any painful region, so we assumed that the attack was mild and did not need hospital care. With the canned food diet, Cerenia and Pepcid he recovered at home in a few days. If I were you I would keep her monitored and hydrated at the vet until she is more stable and on the mend, but again that is a decision for the vet and you to decide. If she cannot keep food and meds down, a Cerenia shot and Pepcid should help her no end.
I know that you would prefer to cook for your baby, but as Lady Jane said, the prescription canned food is the usual food they are given for P. It is very bland, but nutritious and contains a lot of water to keep the dog hydrated. There are a few varieties of the P canned food and perhaps Anna will like one of them. I really have found these foods a blessing when my dog has any GI issues. It can be expensive, but after a while one can convert to the prescription kibble that is cheaper.
I do feel for you as seeing our babies sick and not getting better is very distressing. Pancreatitis is a horrible affliction and it takes time and the special diet and meds to get the patient well again. It is tempting to think that one' s pet is over it when they seem back to their normal selves, but a sick pancreas takes time to recover.
So praying that soon she will be over this and feel good again.
