Yes, I was the one who started the big ears issue by relating the story about my vet's receptionist. She said Max didn't look like a Yorkie because his ears were too big.

I felt better immediately when I brought Max to the backroom to be weighed and the rest of the staff, including vets, turned around and squealed with delight, "Look at the Yorkie!" (we live in big dog country, so a Yorkie in full coat is a novelty)

OP Sharon, during one of our vet visits, a new tech referred to Max as "she" and "her" repeatedly. I corrected her each time and the tech replied, "With hair like that, looks like a girl."

She meant it as a funny compliment, but I didn't let it slide because to me that does speak to quality of care. If they can't get my dog's gender right, then I would worry about serious errors.
