It's 2:30am and I just got home from the emergency hospital. Lacy's eyes were a little dilated, other than that, all her vital signs were good. The vet had no idea what the problem could be. He said side effects from Panacur are extremely rare, so he could not say if her agitation was caused by the Panacur or not. I will call her reg vet tomorrow and see if we can put her on something else. Lacy is still very agitated, going on NINE hours now. It is going to be a long night. As soon as I put her in the playpen, she howls. Ear splitting howls from a little 2 pound sweet little girl.

When I was holding her, I could feel her stomach rumbling and heard a lot of noise. I told the vet and asked him to give her something to calm her stomach. He gave her $140.00 worth of medications to calm her stomach. Good grief! He said he could do X-rays to see if she might have a piece of chicken feet stuck in her insides (her breeder gave all her pups chicken feet and one died from a perforated intestine and another is still pretty sick) and he said it would cost between $650. to $812.00. I said I would wait until tomorrow to see how she was doing.

So, a recap: 2 ½ hours at the hospital for a 15 minute exam, $140. for injections to calm her stomach, a bill of $245.00 plus another bill that will arrive in the mail as I got photographed by a speed camera. And Lacy is not much better than she was 5 hours ago. As I said, it is going to be a long night.
