Are you talking let him go in and out as he wishes without supervision? I personally would never do this, there is too many predators (owls, Hawks, buzzards, snakes, etc...) there is just way too much trouble for them to get into as well. It sounds like he is trained well, why are you trying to fix something that isn't broken? Our pups take time, it's not always convenient but it is part of our obligation to them.
