We got 2 puppies in May and the girl puppy knew her name from day one. My puppy though... it took 2 months before he realized what his name was!

Let me get adjusted to you and maybe they will become more cuddly. Some Yorkies are just not that cuddly. Let the puppy come and lay with you and leave them alone while they lay there. I have a 10 year old Yorkie who I adopted 10 months ago and he learned his new name in 2 days (He seemed to hate his old name) but if he comes and lays with me and I fawn on him he will get up and leave. If I just let him lay with me then he will stay for an hour or more. The minute I start to pet him though and he glares at me and gets up and leaves. I know he loves me, but he wants to be left alone while he is laying against me. My new puppy though loves to be fawned on while he is laying with me. I can kiss and cuddle and pet him. At night if I wake up I can pet him and cuddle closer to him and he doesn't mind at all. It is all about personality.

Give your puppy a little space. Play with the puppy to earn their trust. Give them treats. Train them to sit, stay, lay down. These will all help your puppy bond with you.
