Yeah, I know a puppy wouldn't leave them alone. I puppy sat for our neighbors both before and after I lost Scruffy and had to keep the dogs separate, but that little guy was BIG. He is bigger than my dogs. That is also why I considered a rescue.
Part of me just thinks I should just let Cookie and Snow enjoy their senior years peacefully, but they don't play AT ALL without Scruffy. Scruffy and Cookie played all of the time. They sleep all day, go on walks at the expected time (3-4 times a day), beg for food at dinner, and sit in my lap at night as far as activity. I know they are seniors, but I'd like to see them be a little more active and play at least a little.
I do think the dogs mourned Scruffy's death as well. Snow cried for nights in his crate when we put them to bed, and he never does that.
