I guess I am a nurturer and really need a little dog to care for. I love, love, love my other two dogs but they are 12 and sleep a lot and aren't very demanding and are very well behaved. Scruffy was 12 as well, but demanding and needy. He sat on my lap when I worked at the computer (which is most of the day), slept on my lap at night when I watched tv with the other two dogs beside me, and went to bed with me at night. I keep telling myself that I have two dogs already and that should be enough, but I seem to miss the craziness that Scruffy brought into our lives. He was time consuming, needy, dominant, and demanding and evidently I loved every minute of it.
If a certain personality is something you are looking for, I would suggest that you give a rescue some thought. If you go to a reputable group, they will be able to tell you the personality of a pup. With a puppy, you really don't know what you will get. A good group should keep a yorkie for a minimum of about 3 weeks and thoroughly evaluate their medical needs if any...and their personality. I always suggest that people get on the internet ... on petfinder.com and search for pups and read the information about them. Just a thought......

I realize that rescue is not for everyone.
