I definitely think the food change might be causing this. It's good you got him to eat, since it sounds like he might be having problems with acid reflux. Normally I rest the belly and don't give food if there is vomiting, but when there's bile, I give 1/4 tablet of Pepcid AC and, after an hour, I try food. When you take him to the vet I'd ask him if that's okay if there is a next time. My last Yorkie, Ashley, was four pounds, and that was what my vet advised me to do with her.
