Default Liver shunt question.

I'll admit up front that I wish I had joined this group before I got our Yorkie. Bad on me. Bought from a BYB. Didn't buy from the first one I talked to. Thought because they had taken the time and money to vet properly and removed dew claws it was a good choice. He also seemed to love the parents and had no qualms about us seeing them. Dad was a little larger than standard but we were hoping for larger pup. (Around 10 pounds but she's turned out like mom and 5 pounds at 7 1/2 months)

That being said we found out she has luxating patella in both back legs. After being on here, I looked it up and suspected it from her skipping. Had her checked during spay. Going to be assessed by a specialist since our vet doesn't do those surgeries. But now that I've been on here some, I'm seeing so much about liver shunts I'm stressing out about that. Will a bile test for sure find one if present? And what other tests should we have done to ensure this pup is healthy? What percentage of dogs even have liver shunts?

Did text the breeder about the LP since I felt that was the responsible thing to do. Never heard back from him. Which is suspicious since I had sent pictures and updates before and he always got back to me. Hope he didn't know and kept breeding anyway. Sigh!
