Ok. First I am not trying to stir up trouble with all the breeders. I have had sm poodles all my life and breed them too. They have been well cared for. So I do go to the best vet in our town. I lost y last 2 poodles this yr. all my dogs lived 17-18 years. After the loss of my last my family wanted to chg breeds. Bella was purchased from a great breeder, and she cost dearly but that does not matter. Bailey my male was rescued from a bad situation, not registered, but that was ok as we had them both scheduled for neutering and spading. I am also an ob/GYN nurse practitioner who has been with every welp my dogs had, I know how to welp and weigh small dogs daily for weight gain ect... Now for my problem, when we found Bella in heat the week prior to her surgery was to b done we started separting the dogs, see is 3 weeks past her cycle and her bottom 4 nipples have become enlarged. She also has been acting different. I can feel small balls in side her and heard a heart beat with my Doppler. I will b taking her to our vet ( he has an ultrasound and I have scanned many dogs for him in the past) is this dangerous for Bella,she weighs 5 pounds male weights 6 pounds. I am not worried re puppies they will have a great home, and I will prob keep them myself. But I am worried about Bella, not sure when or how Bentley got to her.i have never breed this young before. I too waited til my dogs were 2 at least and any risk factor would have them fixed. I am responsible and take the best care of my fur babies. But could someone tell me if they have experienced this and how much danger is it to Bella? Thx for ur time. Bentley has already been fixed so this will b our only litter.
