Is it more pronounced at certain times of year? We are suffering major allergies here with the dampness and fall leaves. Max started getting tear stains last spring when he was suffering allergies. Once the stains start, they can be tough to get rid of.
Use a flea comb to really separate the hairs at the corners of the eyes. I also like Spa facial shampoo/tear stain remover for pets. It is tear free and really gentle even on Max's sensitive eyes:
