Your story makes no sense. When a female comes in heat it usually takes 8 to 12 days before they would allow a male to breed them. The heat cycle lasts 3 weeks. Most likely if she was bred it was while she was in your care. Did you keep them separated for 3 weeks after you noticed she was in heat? As for the mother to son breeding, it is impossible to know how it will turn out without knowing the bloodlines of both parents. Most likely the pups will be just fine but as with any breeding, you really never know.
All you can do at this point is get her to the vet and find someone to help you with whelping the puppies. Please let us know how it goes. |
You can always abort the pregnancy....you are half way through it.....Do you know anything about the pedigree of the breeding pair? Personally, with the knowledge of what all can go wrong with inbreeding of questionable pedigrees behind the breeding pair, I would opt to abort the pregnancy....you certainly do not want to bring a litter of babies that will be sold/given to unsuspecting people, only to have their hearts broken when the genetic issues may start to arise and they have to deal with the often horrendous, heartbreaking effects of this type of breeding. This type of breeding is done by VERY EXPERIENCED BREEDERS, with extensive knowledge of their pedigrees/linage, and it can still be dicey......but the people that do this type of breeding are VERY experienced and knowledgeable of their pedigrees for at least 12-25 generations back, and they strengthen their lines doing this.
Knowing how difficult a delivery CAN be for yorkies, and questionable/limited knowledge of pedigrees and linage behind this line breeding, I think you should opt to have the pregnancy aborted and your female spayed, rather than risk bringing babies with questionable genetic health issues into the world, that will have to be dealt with emotionally and financially, by someone.
