I am so sorry to hear of you in a place with the situation you have described. I dont knbow if laws have changed, but if a patient walked out AMA, insurance would not pay the bill....better check into that before walking!
I would talk to your attending doctor...show him how well you are doing with your "self managed" physical therapy activity, and tell him what the people from PT told you about not needing them and they would not be back unless you called for them....have him explane all the changes in your treatments/meds/etc since arriving....I would certainly mention being roomed with a MALE patient upon arrival there....mention all the things they are treating you for now, were cleared up in the other hospital. Good luck....FYI...have those PT people come every single time you are scheduled to be seen by them...they will HAVE to come and record how well you are doing and you do not need the therapy sessions...that will help get you out!!! You dont want them saying they did not go back because YOU told them you didnt need them or want them, and they often do just that to lighten their load! You MAKE them do absolutely everything you are supposed to be having/doing, so they can see you are well enough for discharge! |
