AKC recognises and registers purebred Yorkshire Terriers from AKC registered Yorkshire Terrier parents regardless of size but they will be disqualified from an AKC sauctioned show if they do not fall within the size standard. That doesn't mean they are not TRUE Yorkshire Terriers.
