Terrified of the Spare Bedroom-Suggestions? It's been a while since I've been on. Things are going good overall and Sadie's digestive issues are under control. I have company coming for a few months so Sadie and I will have to move into the spare bedroom while they're here. I decided to take her in there as a test last night. She was absolutely TERRIFIED. Shaking uncontrollably and panting heavily. She started to growl nervously as well. I tried to comfort her by cuddling her tight and speak in a soothing tone but nothing helped. As soon as we left the room and went back to our own bedroom she was cool as a cucumber. I am not sure what she is so afraid of in that room. She used to stay in there when she was a puppy and I went to work. After about a year she started being afraid of being put in that room. She will go in there to use the potty pad and briefly bark out the window, but other than that she really tenses up if she thinks she is going to be put in that room???? Now she just hangs out in our master bedroom all day and seems fine with that. Any suggestions on how I can desensitize the fear? Gotta figure something out or I'll have to sleep on the couch for two months. :-) |
