You will never know until the time comes. However, before you breed them make sure to check with the regisary to see if they have age guidelines for your dog. I think that if your dog is AKC the male has to be a certain age to registar his pups.
Petie breed Madie and he was only 7 mo. old. However Madie is registared APR and they don't have a guide line on the dogs age. They realize that sometimes no matter what you do pups happen.
