Default Insuance Vent (Long)

This is more of a vent than anything else and how frustrating insurances can be. So most of you know that Boomer and Thumper have some scratching issues.

I purchased insurance for them though Healthy Paws and took them back to the Vet after the waiting period. Well I submitted the claims for the both of them and Boomer's was denied. When I called to ask why I was told that I called them during the waiting period and mentioned I saw scratching. I don't remember stating he had allergies but that is beside the point. I said the medical records did not indicate that but they said they record all their phone conversations and note every time a customer calls and questions the policy. Thumper's claim was approved. But going forward who knows because I asked if in the future the Vet suggests allergy testing in the future would that be approved. I was told yes but who knows now that I asked the question it could be denied.

I am not upset that they denied the claim I was actually expecting that. What pisses me off is that because I asked a question during the waiting period they automatically deny the claim. That means anytime I take Boomer to the Vet for itching/scratching it will be denied. Some times I really hate insurance companies both human and animal alike.

Boomer is actually doing well on his medication and Benadryl. He only has dandruff that I hope with the food change will go away soon and doesn't scratch or lick as often as he did before.

Thumper is the one that has more issues with scratching. He licks his paws and legs constantly still and rubs his face on my couch or blankets regularly.

I didn't buy the insurance to treat allergies my purpose of buying it was actually in case of injury or god forbid a serious illness but who knows now with Boomer if they would cover anything or just say it was all related to the scratching.

I just needed to write this out. I actually feel better. Sorry for the long post.
