Other than a sneaky squirrel, snake, lizard or rat that dare to trespass, the only animals that may be
"traipsing around/on your property," would be mine. The most danger on my property would be IF he were unsupervised and picked up by a hawk 
My 3 year old yorkie(RIP) some how managed to survive living a healthy life within the walls of our home and where ever I happen to have taken him since the age of 12 weeks. Puppies need vitamin D just like humans, I can assure you, my new puppy will not be confined to the house (just in case you wanted to know)
That reminds me of some women in latin countries that wrap their children in heavy blankets, appearing to suffocate them, and do not leave their house for the first month nor will they bathe their babies without a receiving blanket.
